Don't smell like SMOKE!

 

One of the pure joys of life is a campfire. I know many people get peace and comfort from a roaring campfire, at least if you are not in the path of the smoke! LOL! Some people seem to attract the smoke. It follows them even when they move to a different seat! 

The Lesson Today: Be like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and you will never have to worry about smelling like SMOKE!

Today, I started the book of Daniel. I was immediately RE-introduced to Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. God blessed these men with amazing talent in so many areas of their life. Just talking to them King Nebuchadnezzar was impressed. In Daniel 1:20 - "Whenever the king consulted them in any matter requiring wisdom and balanced judgment, he found them ten times more capable than any of the other magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom." These men were gifted and those gifts came straight from the Lord.

That wisdom came with a never-ending dedication to the Lord that eventually took them into the fiery furnace where they survived sure death, without even smelling like smoke!

One of my favorite testimonies of faith comes from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego:

"O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power and Majesty. But even if he doesn't, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up." (Daniel 3:16-18)

They act as if they are sitting around a peaceful campfire and sharing their faith! They are not worried. They do not fear sure death. They have faith that if they are saved; THEY WIN! If they are not saved from the fire; THEY WIN!

AND in the midst of the Fire, GOD IS WITH THEM. 

Doesn't the world need that message right now! Don't I need that message right now. God has given Stephanie and I a mission. He has blessed us in amazing ways and when we go through the fires of life, HE is right there with us. PRAISE GOD, HE CAN DO THE SAME THING FOR YOU!

Turn your life to Jesus. Worship the one TRUE God. The fires of life will still happen, but we can be assured he will never abandon us and we will endure and NOT SMELL LIKE SMOKE! LOL!
