Merry Christmas and the book of Revelation!

Merry Christmas! Yes, I know it is Christmas Eve, but I will be busy visiting all the gkids tomorrow and won't have time to celebrate with you! AND Yes, I know it is Sunday. I don't normally post any social media on Sunday. But, HEY, its Christmas Eve!

I got a message from someone yesterday asking if I was ok. YES, I am fine. I have gotten to the book of Revelation in my studying and have been really praying and studying how to proceed with this blog on that book. (I do have a tendency to overthink things! LOL) I decided to wait until after Christmas to delve into the last book of the Bible.

I love one of the opening verses of this book:

"God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to the message and obey what it says, for the time is near." (Revelation 1:3)

I have to admit. I have avoided diving into this book, but this scripture is so inviting and should draw everyone to the chapters of Revelation.

I love living right now, sharing the gospel, and doing everything I can to bring people to Jesus BEFORE Jesus comes again. I really don't even want to think of the end times because I know so many people that I am close to who don't know Jesus. I don't want them to be lost. SO, I have avoided reading this prophecy.  I also believe there is so much misinformation about this book. What is symbolism, what will happen and when will it happen? Again, I am not really interested in the details of when and how Jesus will return. I DO look forward to it, but sometimes the details get in the way of the joy of his return.

So, what does this have to do with Christmas? Right now I am celebrating the first coming of Jesus. I love the pageantry, the joy, the peace, the fellowship, and the love of Christmas Day. Ever since I was a little kid, Christmas Day had a special feel to it. Sure, the presents were great, but Christmas day has a feeling about it that is like no other day. I am sure the second return of Jesus will match that peace and a whole lot more.

So, on Tuesday, I will start. (I have already started, but spending more time studying for this one) But, my approach isn't going to be figuring out the book. My approach, like the rest of the Bible, will be "What does this book say to me today?" How does it affect me right now while I wait on Jesus' return?

So,  Merry Christmas. Don't look for me on social media today. I will be out shopping, a tradition that dates back to ancient days! LOL! (at least for me!). Celebrate Jesus' birth today, tomorrow, and every day. AND don't forget to help others prepare for Round 2!
