Start with God!

 

This might sound a bit arrogant: "I think I can convince anyone of the existence of God."

In reality, sadly, this is not true. There are people who are completely blinded from the truth. Just like Adam and Eve, the serpent has convinced them they can be like gods. There are people in this world, indeed within our communities, who don't want to believe and are hostile to any attempts to believe. There are people who instantly throw up their defenses when we even hint at the existence of God.

In order to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, people have to start by believing God exists. The entirety of the Bible is based on the premise that, YES, God does exist. The Bible gives us a complete view of God. It highlights all his qualities and how he loves his creation. Paul claims without Jesus' resurrection from the dead, our faith is useless:

"For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. And we apostles would all be lying about God..." (1 Corinthians 15:13-15)

But, in reality, our faith is useless without God. We must START WITH GOD!

"And yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We are formed by your hand." (Isaiah 64:8)

I can't imagine the grief of our Lord because people won't even acknowledge his existence. They say, "How can we believe in something we cannot see?" My response was, "You don't see the wind, yet you feel the effects of it in the trees. You see the strength of the wind as it cools in the summer and knocks down trees in a storm." Creation is the greatest proof of God's existence. It takes more faith that everything came from nothing than to believe in the power of God!

"I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help. I was ready to be found, but no now was looking for me. I said, 'Here I am, here I am!' to a nation that did not call on my name. All day long I opened my arms to a rebellious people. But they follow their own evil paths and their own crooked schemes." (Isaiah 65:1,2)

God does exist. All of Heaven declares his existence. Seek him, he is ready to be found! He is reaching out to each of us. Call upon his name!

"The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day, they continue to speak; night after night, they make him known. They speak without a sound or word' their voice is never heard. Yet, their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat." (Pslam 19:1-6)

Start with God. Acknowledge him. Your life cannot truly begin until you know God. Seek him, and he will be found. If you don't start with God, there is no hope to find His Son and receive the salvation he promises!
