You ain't seen nothin' yet!

I am sure people are tired of hearing about the eclipse. I have to admit we have been talking about it for over a year and now that it is done, I am not sure what we will talk about! LOL!

There were so many wonderful pictures taken. I didn't get very many good ones with my iPhone, and the one above is not mine. But, the amazing Glory of God on display yesterday was so wonderful to see. And as I was reading in the book of Isaiah this morning I came across some verses that put this experience in perspective.

"No longer will you need the sun to shine by day, nor the moon to give its light by night, for the Lord your God will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set; your moon will never go down. For the Lord will be your everlasting light. Your days of mourning will come to an end." (Isaiah 60:19,20)

Yesterday was spectacular, but as the saying goes, "You ain't seen nothing yet!"

I loved watching others around our area and around our country admiring God's creation. The sun and the moon are reliable; they are predictable. They follow a pattern through the skies that can only be from the designer God. But, there will come a time when even these predictable orbs will pass away. We will not need the sun and the moon in the sky. We will be forever in the presence of the Lord. The old heaven and earth will pass away. They will be replaced with a new heaven and earth, and the Glory of the Lord will shine brighter and more spectacularly than anything we could ever imagine.

Some were predicting the end of the world yesterday. I had to chuckle. This "phenomenon" we witnessed yesterday was rare to us, but it happens predictably every eighteen months somewhere around the globe. The end will come unpredictably, and then the REAL GLORY will shine! I can't wait! I want to take others along with me, just like I wanted EVERYONE to witness the full eclipse yesterday! It was spectacular to see, but you ain't seen nothin' yet!

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the throne saying, 'Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.' And the one sitting on the throne said, 'Look, I am making everything new!' And then he said to me, 'Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.'" (Revelation 21:1-5)
