Just being me!
It has been a busy, busy couple of weeks. But, I love this wonderful life that God is building here for us in Henry County, Indiana. There are challenges, my prayer list is continuing to grow. But, I have had fun. I have to say, the best part. I just get to be me!
However, it certainly has been crazy busy. If it weren’t for the faith in my Heavenly Father it could be a little stressful. But, just when I think things are getting TOO BUSY, God responds in some dramatic way. Yesterday was a perfect example of God saying you are going to be alright, just sit back and let me take care of you.
As I often do, I made a posts on facebook about my “shopping” at Walmart. Most people who know me know I do not shop. Stephanie is our designated grocery shopper. So, since I am a “bachelor” here during the week I went “Bachelor Shopping” at Walmart. It was completely random. Tostido Pizza rolls, ice cream, four healthy choice microwave meals, bread, bologna, mustard, ketchup, cheese, apples, grapes, Little Debbie Oatmeal pies, and a case of water. (I think that was the complete list) So, yesterday, I get a visitor at church carrying a CARE PACKAGE for the Bachelor. Oh, MY, it was so good, soup, corn bread, and a blueberry strudel kind of thing that was literally AMAZING. The pizza rolls can wait!!!!!!
There was a little half verse that stuck with me today while I was reading 2 Corinthians chapter 11.
“But I will continue doing what I have always done…” (2 Corinthians 11:12a, NLT)
Paul was being ruthlessly attacked by people questioning his credentials. I am so blessed that the opposite has been true here in my new church home. People have been so appreciative and have openly expressed it to me. I am amazed because I really am just being who I am. I am doing the things I have always done and have never been so at peace JUST BEING ME. And like Paul, I take no credit for anything I am or what I do. It is NOT I, but it is CHRIST WORKING THROUGH ME. That theme has come up quite a bit over the last several weeks.
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.” (Galatians 2:20-21, NLT)
Praise God for how he has created me and how he continues to create me every day!
