Thank You for giving!

Do you remember the Ray Boltz song - “Thank You for giving to the Lord?”

I was thinking of this song as I was reflecting on the amazing generosity of the people that have supported our ministry. WE are certainly lives that have changed because of that generosity. I have had such a hard time even asking, but people gave cheerfully and willingly. I am so thankful for and humbled by that generosity.

I am reading chapters 8 and 9 this morning in 2 Corinthians and I was thinking about how generous people have been to give to our ministry in Bluffton at THE MEETING PLACE.  We have completely been supported for the entire three year period of our ministry there. Even more important than the financial support, and trust me that was important, was the support with prayers, and the support of your gifts and presence. God has really blessed us with an abundance we certainly don’t deserve and so much more than we ever expected.

Many have been asking what is going to happen to THE MEETING PLACE.  We have really been praying about this. We have a young lady that wants the apartment and she also would love to continue THE MEETING PLACE, she is praying and approaching people to support her in this venture. We join her with prayer. With the support we have already received this year, we plan on helping her continue the meeting place with some seed money. We will continue to pray about this situation and that this is in God’s will for her and THE MEETING PLACE.

“Remember this — a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your own heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’ And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)

I thank each of you for planting a little seed. The crop was plentiful and we pray the harvest will continue. Please continue to plant seeds by sharing the gifts and blessings God has given. I pray you support your church. Stephanie and I have already been blessed in amazing ways by this NEW generous church family we are a part of. We have felt their prayers continually. For those that are a part of other congregations, please don’t forget to be generous to your church family, your pastor, and those in need in your community. The church is on the very front lines fighting homelessness, job loss, and the extreme challenges facing families in today’s culture. Support them sacrificially as the Lord commands us to do that work.

Thank you for giving!
