I LIKE IT BRIGHT!
I am starting to get familiar and more used to our "new" home. (NEW TO US) We are living in a home near the town of Spiceland, Indiana. God has provided this place as a gift. I have told so many people how perfect it is for us. We have four bedrooms for just Stephanie and me. HAHA! Yes, it is a little spacious. But, in a couple of weeks we will have our first visiting family members and it will be filled. When you have 3 daughters and 22 grandkids you NEED SPACIOUSNESS! LOL!
One of the things I love about a home is LIGHT. I love a lot of windows and I love a lot of BRIGHT LIGHTS. It has helped us financially that these new bulbs don't use as much power, because I really like lights ON. Am I the only one that likes a lot of LIGHT? I also like a lot of sunshine. Yesterday, I was talking to someone at church about the need for sunshine. It has been kind of gloomy and rainy the last several days and I am looking for the long range forecast which shows SUN and WARMTH. I can't wait until the HOUSE IS FLOODED WITH SUNLIGHT.
Today I started reading Ephesians and I love one of Paul's prayers in chapter 1:
"Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God's people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called -- his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance." (Ephesians 1:15-18, NLT, emphasis added)
As I start my morning, this is my prayer for you, "that your hearts would be FLOODED WITH THE LIGHT of Jesus Christ so that you can understand the confident hope we have for the future."
God does provide us with the wonderful hope that even in the midst of a world gone completely MAD, we can be confident of our future and the glorious inheritance we, his people, will receive. HIS LIGHT, the goodness of GOD, will shine through the darkness that surrounds us. We have hope for a future. We have joy for the future because of that LIGHT.
There may be rain today. There may be sadness, and evil, that we encounter today. It is MONDAY! LOL! But, our hearts can be flooded with the LIGHT of Jesus even in the midst of storms, wind, rain, and the gloominess of a Monday morning! Help someone SEE that light today! BE THAT LIGHT in an otherwise GLOOMY DAY!
