BLOGGING to the NATIONS!
FAVORITE SCRIPTURE DAY #4
I have been REALLY reading and studying my bible for years. God's word has been a big part of my regular daily routine for at least twenty years. I remember my early days of blogging (fifteen years ago), Here is what I wrote in my first blog:
"Well, we're going to try to make this happen. About 2 years ago I started journaling about my daily bible reading. I have kept it up for two years. I really can't believe it. But, it has really been helpful in focusing my walk with the Lord. That doesn't mean I am anything special. As a matter of fact, it has proven one thing to me. I am a sinner and have a long way to go to be where God wants me to be.
This blog post was written on July 27th, 2010 -
I can't believe all that God has done since that time. I have been faithful to reading his word. Yes, there were gaps in those 15 years. But, God has been faithful through all my life with NO GAPS and the posts between then and now are certainly a great testament to his POWER and MIGHT!
As I look at my FAVORITE SCRIPTURE TODAY, I noticed it came with a note and a date. Do you ever write dates in your bible? I write a lot of notes in my bible. I write my thoughts, praises, questions, and comments. Writing those thoughts were the BEGINNING of this BLOGGING ADVENTURE.
Once in a while I write a note with a date. I want to remember when I read a scripture and how it fit "such a time as this." My favorite scripture today has a note on it that dates July 11th, 2023. Here is the note with the date:
"the meeting place is small right now, but God is watching over us! Praise his name!" (July 11th, 2023)
Here was the scripture:
"He said this when you were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan. They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. Yet he did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf. 'Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.' Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!" (1 Chronicles 16:19-25, NLT)
My blogs have been a way for me to take NOTES outside of those I write in my BIBLE. These online commentaries have really helped me internalize SCRIPTURE and to document my life with JESUS. ALL of my favorite scriptures have come because of these BLOG POSTS.
WHO AM I, LORD, that you would choose me to lead even ONE PERSON proclaiming the "good news that he saves?" Who am I that you would perform such amazing things in my life that I just can't contain them and have to share them among the nations? Truly I am no one, BUT YOU LORD ARE WORTHY OF PRAISE!
Thank you Lord for being with me, teaching me through your word, helping me to get to know you better every day, and to share YOUR message to the nations. I love you LORD, more today than ever before!
