GOD KNOWS!

 

Stephanie and I have moved around quite a bit in our lifetime. After doing some counting I think we have lived in 16 different homes during our 47 years of marriage. And during every stage of our life we have met hundreds of people and became GOOD friends with so many. Yet, when you move it is so hard to really stay in touch and KNOW exactly what is going on in their lives. I still consider these good friends from the past, dear friends. I love them and care for them. THAT is why I LOVE the INTERNET and SOCIAL MEDIA apps like FACEBOOK. While there is a lot of evil that takes place on social media apps, they CAN BE USED FOR GOOD. I LOVE knowing what is going on in the lives of my FRIENDS and FAMILY. This knowledge feeds my daily prayers and directs my requests of the LORD.

When I read the FIRST THREE CHAPTERS of Revelation this morning, I was struck by this REPEATED phrase, "I know all the things you do," in Jesus' message to the SEVEN CHURCHES.

"I know all the things you do, I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don't tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. You have patiently suffered for me without quitting." (Revelation 2:2-3, NLT)

Then through the rest of chapters 2 and 3, JESUS indicates his KNOWLEDGE of each of the SEVEN CHURCHES. He KNOWS the good things they do right along with the BAD. He knows their faith, their struggles, their joys, their works, their good deeds, and he knows their HEARTS.

GOD KNOWS!

The thought that GOD KNOWS is rather intimidating. We cannot hide our deeds; we cannot hide our words; We cannot hide our thoughts; We cannot hide our HOPES, OUR DREAMS, or OUR EVIL. 

GOD KNOWS!

God doesn't MOVE ON. I do not have the capacity to stay in close touch, knowing exactly what is happening in the lives of my FRIENDS. I have to have a TOOL to do it and even then it is not COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE. 

GOD KNOWS!

He doesn't need a tool like a FACEBOOK ACCOUNT. He knows because HE IS GOD!

This leads me to one of my favorite scriptures:

"O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I'm far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!" (Psalm 139:1-6, NLT)

GOD KNOWS!

When GOD sees you is filled with blessings and joy to KNOW your heart or, like many of the seven churches, does he have a COMPLAINT about you. IN REVELATION only two churches (Smyrna and Philadelphia) have NO COMPLAINTS. The other FIVE have complaints. WHAT ABOUT YOU?

GOD KNOWS. What do you think about GOD KNOWING YOU?  IS HE PLEASED with you? WHAT camplaints does he have against you. Has he seen your hard work and your patient endurance.
