I just want to STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY!

Favorite Scriptures Day #19

We all know the Lord's Prayer, but there are so many other prayers within scripture that mean so much to me. I already share the PRAYER of JABEZ which is probably my favorite prayer in scripture. But, I also have OTHER FAVORITE scriptures that are also prayers.

I need to do a sermon series on famous prayers of the Bible. (I'll have to write that down, maybe starting in January). In my Bible, I have written WHO I thought of when I first highlighted these prayers. My note next to this one is MY CHURCH FAMILY. At the time I wrote that note, I had a DIFFERENT church family than I do today, but it sure fits.

I really spend a lot of time thinking about and praying for my church family. Behind my NORMAL family, (I got a chuckle when I wrote the word normal in regards to my family. LOL!) my church family means the world to me. I collect prayers in the note section of my phone. The list grows rapidly because I never take a name off the list. One of my favorite things to do is sit in the sanctuary at church and pray for my church family. I don't pray this prayer specifically but it's content is always on my mind.

"Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God's people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called - his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him." (Ephesians 1:15-19, NLT)

That is my true prayer for South Memorial. It has been seven months that I have been praying for this fellowship of believers. I literally have not stopped thanking God for you. AND YES, I pray for you constantly, both individually and collectively. This church is not about me, it is about YOU growing in your SPIRITUAL WISDOM and INSIGHT. I do pray that you are flooded with the LIGHT of JESUS as you go through your day. I want you to have a confident hope in our CHURCH, in your MISSION, and in your ETERNITY. I pray you grasp even in a small way the GREATNESS OF GOD and his power for all of us.

Thank You Lord, for this wonderful group of people. Give me the strength and wisdom to just STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY as you work through these people to reach our community. Thank You LORD for letting me play a small part in this wonderful FAMILY. AMEN!
