What AMAZES you?

What AMAZES you?
Are you amazed that you woke up full of life? Are you amazed at how great the coffee tastes? Are you amazed at the sun rising starting another day? Are you amazed that God wrote us a message called the BIBLE? Are you amazed that you have a job, a ministry, a purpose for life? Are you amazed at the family you have, maybe the joy of kids, grandkids, or great-grandkids? Are you amazed at the peacefulness of the house AFTER everyone heads off to school or the quiet as you head off to work? Or are you amazed at the beautiful sound of WORSHIP MUSIC playing on the radio? Are you amazed at the joy and love of a child? Are you amazed at how God works in your life?
Are we amazed by God any more?
Do we ever dwell on the fact that God had this perfect plan to create and re-create the world and that we, his creation, would have the chance to experience eternity with him? Are we ever amazed at how much God loves us and the sacrifice he made for us?
It seems to me we take so much of life for granted. Just like jumping in your car or truck. You get in, turn the key or push the button, and "WALLAH" it starts. We live such a wonderful life but I get the feeling most people don't even give their AMAZING LIFE a second thought. We don't recognize the gift of life and what an AMAZING GIFT it is!
Those were my thoughts when I read my NEXT FAVORITE SCRIPTURE:
"When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have to power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen." (Ephesians 3:14-21, NLT)
I love that two times in this chapter of Ephesians, Paul uses the phrase, "When I think of all this...." I can just picture him sitting in his prison cell and contemplating the AMAZING power of God. It even embarrasses me a little bit when I realize all the comfort I live in and still can't take the time to sit in amazement at all God has done, is doing, and is about to do in my life.
Take some time today to SIT in AMAZEMENT at all the LORD is, all he has done, all he will do! Take the time today and be AMAZED at all the little gifts God has blessed you with as you navigate your life. Besides GRACE being AMAZING, I think we should be able to find MORE THINGS in our life that bring AMAZEMENT!
When I think of all this......
