NOT -- Black FRIDAY SHOPPING!

Much of the family is on their BLACK FRIDAY TRIP! I just want to be clear. I am home. I am NOT shopping, nor do I have plans to shop, unless it is a trip to the HARDWARE STORE. I didn't see GILMANS was on their list of stores! LOL!

I am always amazed at BLACK FRIDAY shopping. We just get spending an entire day saying we are THANKFUL for all God has given us. Less than 24 hours later we are SHOPPING saying we want MORE AND MORE! It just strikes me as a little bit ironic. Now, in all fairness, MY family uses this BLACK FRIDAY EVENT as a way just to get together and have fun. IT IS ALL about the JOY of FAMILY!

Our goal is not to accumulate more and more stuff. Our goal is to grow in understanding and knowledge of JESUS and what he did for us. Our goal is to learn what really matters. STUFF doesn't really matter like relationships and your number one relationship is with JESUS, the SAVIOR of the WORLD.

"I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and udnerstanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ's return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation --  the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ -- for this will bring much glory and praise to God" (Philippians 1:9-11, NLT)

Living out our faith is a daily journey of growing in love and understand. Paul's prayer for the Philippians was that their love would overflow, impacting their community and beyond. As we grow in our relationship with Christ, our lives should reflect His love and truth. Let this always be a reminder to strive for a life of purity and integrity, so we can be effective witnesses of the Gospel.

Heavenly Father, I love you and am so thankful for family and friends. I am so thankful you have led me to the place where I value love and friendship more than stuff. I am blessed beyond measure and I praise your name for another day with family! AMEN!
