THANKS, AGAIN!
By the end of the week you might be tired of me saying HOW THANKFUL I AM!
This is it, A WEEK OF THANKSGIVING and PRAISING GOD for the important people in my life!
Yes, I know we should be thankful beyond THANKSGIVING, just like we should celebrate JESUS beyond the Christmas season. But, I, PERSONALLY, designate this week a WEEK OF THANKSGIVING and I proclaim before all that GOD is GOOD.
But, I have to confess before all of you, I violated a SACRED covenant last night. For those that didn't see it, I HELPED DECORATE THE CHURCH FOR CHRISTMAS last night. I know, I pray the LORD will forgive me. LOL! The work done last night to transform our church to celebrate the birth of our savior was wonderful. The trees, the wreathes, and more importantly, the fellowship we shared just reinforces my heart filled with THANKSGIVING. I am reminded of one of my thanksgiving Psalms:
"Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. He unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation." (Psalm 100, NLT)
Our lives are filled with people who walk alongside us in our spiritual journey. We are God's people and he has granted us friends on mission. We have been given a gift of ministry partners and a fellowship of believers. We need to praise GOD for THOSE GIFTS. That is exactly what I was trying to convey yesterday. Like Paul, we should remember to thank God for these partners in ministry. Reflecting on those who have impacted our faith encourages us to appreciate and nurture these relationships. Just as Paul expressed gratitude for the Philippians, we too can take a moment to thank God for the people He has placed in our lives who support and encourage us in our faith.
"Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heart it until now." (Philippians 1:3-5, NLT)
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of fellowship and the people you have placed in my life. I praise you for the loving, caring, hardworking people of South Memorial. I cherish them and the way they build us up as we serve together. I praise you Lord for your perfect plan bringing us here! AMEN!
Who are the people in your life that you SHOULD SAY, "I LOVE YOU", who do you THANK GOD for, and who are you PRAYING FOR?
