Who can you ENCOURAGE today?

TODAY I AM THINKING ABOUT A CLOSE FRIEND.

We haven't spoken a lot lately, not because we haven't wanted to, but because we have both been swamped doing what we think God has called us to do. When you spend nearly every day with someone for several years, you don't have to speak all the time to keep the bond you have. There is a lot going on in his life right now, I can sense it and through the facebook posts, I know it is a sudden change, an unexpected twist in his life. I sent him a note today, praying I might provide SOME level of ENCOURAGEMENT.

I loved preaching about Paul's love of the Church at Philippi. Paul is a master of encouragement. Doesn't that seem strange coming from a guy who stood by and watched STEPHEN be stoned to death? But, that is what God does. Paul was transformed.

Guess what? So, am I, I am also transformed. I went through some pain to get here, but I can see God's powerful hand has transformed me from a work driven, success oriented, servant. AND NOW I feel a great desire just to LOVE PEOPLE, ENCOURAGE THEM, LISTEN TO THEM, and SIT IN THE PRESENCE of my LORD. Trust me when I say THAT IS TRANSFORMATION!

Listen to this lovely message of encouragement:

"We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3, NLT)

Encouragement can be a powerful tool in the life of a believer. Paul took the time to write letters of encouragement, expressing love and gratitude, which strengthened and uplifted others. In our fast-paced world, taking a moment to encourage someone can make a profound difference. Whether through a text, a call, a handwritten note, your words can inspire and renew someone's spirit. Let us follow Paul's example and be intentional in our efforts to uplift and support those around us.

"For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing." (1 Thessalonians 5:9-11, NLT)

Heavenly Father, Thank you for blessing me in ways I truly don't deserve and never expected. Help me, Lord, be an encouragement to others. Help me to build them up especially in times where life looks bleak and it seems there is no hope on the horizon. I love you, Lord, and I praise you for the transformation of my life. I am humbled at how you use me for YOUR GLORY! AMEN!
