I DO HAVE A KING!

 I hate politics. I know I have shared that before, but it breeds such division in our country, both sides. AND, I can tell you without any hesitation, both parties, every president since George Washington, are flawed sinful people needing the grace and mercy of Jesus. This year I had to chuckle at the "NO KING" movement. I had to SHOUT from the mountain tops, NO... NO...NO... I DO HAVE A KING!!!!!!!! and HE WILL REIGN FOREVER MORE, FOREVER MORE!

The key, the reason for the season is KING JESUS. I do not say this as some quaint little philosophy of life. JESUS is my king. I TAKE ORDERS STRAIGHT FROM KING JESUS. I do not pledge my allegiance to Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, or any other earthly leader. I am completely obedient to the King of the Universe, the one who gave up the comforts of heaven to come down to us. I serve only him.

"You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!" (Luke 1:31-33, NLT)

Yes, I will honor whoever is leading our country. I will obey any laws that do not violate my obligation to King Jesus. I will render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. But, MY ONLY TRUE KING IS JESUS.

Gabriel's announcement to Mary highlights Jesus' eternal reign. Unlike earthly leaders who WILL fail, Jesus' kingdom is eternal and marked with peace. Trusting in Jesus as the eternal King brings stability and peace to our lives. We often place all our hope and trust in MAN. We forget that man is temporary, JESUS is ETERNAL. We need to seek JESUS, he will protect us, provide for us, and he loves us like no earthly king ever has. 

Heavenly Father, I respect the earthly leaders who sit in positions of power. But, help me and all of your people to rely only upon you for the perfect peace we so desperately desire. I praise you for all you have done in my life. I praise you for what you are doing and I praise you for all that you are about to do. Thank you for coming down to us, living, walking, and breathing here on earth. Thank you for living in a way that we know how to live and to die for your kingdom. Amen!
