Do EVERYTHING to SAVE SOME!

I have the amazing honor to retain the title of PASTOR. It is hard to explain the overwhelming joy to think God chose me to be his representative here in New Castle. As I was reading 1 Corinthians 9 this morning, I heard Paul expressing a little of his frustration. He talked about the people that were questioning his authority and his leadership. I feel for him, but I can't relate. At South Memorial I have been treated with so much love, care, and respect. People seek me for guidance and a listening ear. I am humbled by the thought that someone thinks enough of me to seek me for some kind of wisdom. When that happens I often think, "Lord, don't let me down. Help me speak YOUR WISDOM because if I claim any wisdom at all it is from YOU!"

As I prepare a message each week, it reveals my complete inadequacy, and I have to drop to my knees for the strength of the LORD to provide WORDS, THOUGHTS, and INSIGHT. AND I AM SO THANKFUL the Lord is faithful. I try to be there for everyone, to be a light that pierces the darkness for all to see. I want to find COMMON GROUND as a way to connect JESUS to daily life. Yes, it is a humbling experience.

"When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings." (1 Corinthians 9:22-23, NLT)

Being a 65 year old man, I have been through a few years of life. I have faced trials, hardships, joy, and just about everything in between. God has been SO FAITHFUL it really is humbling. It is HIS faithfulness throughout my life that leads me to HELP others SEEK HIM. That is my great joy and I pray he will continue to guide me in all those situations.

Heavenly Father, I humbly come to you, thanking you for the PURE JOY of serving you as the leader of South Memorial. I thank you for this past year, how it has grown my own faith, and I pray it has helped grow the faith of others. I don't serve a church, Lord, I serve only you. Please Lord, continue to guide my thoughts, my words, and my deeds that, like Paul, I CAN SAVE SOME. Amen!
