I was 75% devoted to God!

 

I have lived most of my life outside of FULL-TIME MINISTRY. In 2017 when we decided to retire from teaching, my focus changed and my devotion to God increased drastically. Through our retirement in 2019 until now, I feel pretty good that we have been FULLY DEVOTED to God and serving him. But that leaves 57 years before this SWITCH where I have to ask if I was all in. 

I really started to notice a change in my devotion way back in 2008 when we joined CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association). My priorities changed through a church service at my home church that asked me to use what I was passionate about for the LORD. Slowly, GOD really began to transform my life. It was like my TRANSFORMATION as a REAL FOLLOWER of JESUS began after that service. 

AND NOW, here I am trying to convince others to GO ALL IN for JESUS. 

"Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do no let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now have have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God." (Romans 6:12-13, NLT)

What are you waiting for? What is keeping you from living a life COMPLETELY DEVOTED TO GOD? I am not talking about serving or spending more time at church. I am not talking about doing more service work for others. While those are good things, they are not always an indication of your DEVOTION to the LORD. Try answering these questions:

How much time do you spend SEEKING GOD and his will for your life and his will for your DAY?

What are your conversations like with GOD? Are they filled with a list of needs and wants? 

Do you seek his word and have this insatiable desire to learn more, to know more about him?

DO YOU come to CHURCH as a task or as a time to feel the presence of the body of Christ?

The answer to those question will indicate if you are still being CONTROLLED BY YOUR SIN or if you are being CONTROLLED, a SLAVE to the GOSPEL. ARE YOU USING YOUR ENTIRE BODY as an instrument for the LORD. 

Before 2017, I was about 75% IN with the LORD. Yes, I was devoted, but there is nothing like being fully devoted to him, where he takes over your thoughts, where he takes over your actions, and where you feel every moment of every day you are a living sacrifice fully devoted to him. 75% is not good enough. We NEED TO BE FULLY DEVOTED TO HIM!

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times where it was still more about me than you. I am so joyous over the time I spend with you now and I regret not doing that earlier in my life. I truly LOVE you Lord and I want nothing more than to serve you and to do your will. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Amen!
