Pray for me?
I have a difficult time asking someone to pray for me. I am more comfortable praying for others. I really do enjoy praying for people. Today, we are in California and our Food Pantry/Clothing Closet is in operation without us. My part in this event is to pray for people. I just love doing that and God has been so faithful in answering the prayers and needs of these people. Well, today I am not there and I miss not being able to serve in that way. I am thankful there are people from our church who will pray for those that take advantage of our service to the community.
I ALSO AM SO THANKFUL there are people in the church that constantly pray for ME.
Paul requested prayer from the church at Thessalonica. And I should do that more often.
"Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you. Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer. But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. And we are confident in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we commanded you. May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ." (1 Thessalonians 3:1-5, NLT)
I really do want you to pray for me.
Pray that I will be the leader God wants me to be. Pray the Lord will speak through me, not just on Sunday morning, but every day. Pray I will have the words and wisdom to direct this congregation on the path God has called us to. Pray that I will approach the LORD with BOLD PRAYERS, not limiting God to my feeble thoughts and ideas. I know this CHURCH is not just about me and that is why it is difficult to even ask for personal prayer. This journey is not about me. It is not about Stephanie. It is not about our leadership, it is about GOD'S WILL BEING DONE. But, I do covet your prayers to make sure we seek and heed his call.
We know the LORD IS FAITHFUL, and trust he will use us for his Glory. I TRUST THE LORD and am CONFIDENT he will guide every step!
Please, Lord, use our church to further your kingdom. Give us your guidance, your love, your endurance to serve. We just want to grow your kingdom, connecting people to your perfect love. You Lord are the reason we exist, please keep us from distractions that deter us from our one goal. We want to connect others with you! Thank You Lord for choosing us to serve! We will honor that call in the best way we know how. Amen!
