Do I need RESCUED?

ZACH WILLIAMS is one of my favorite Christian Song Artists. One of my favorite Zach Williams songs is "RESCUE STORY." I haven't heard all of Zach's testimony, but he certainly was rescued and brought from death to life. Here is a link to that song:

I just love this song. But, when I was reading Colossians this morning a thought crossed my mind. Here is the scripture:

"We also pray that you will be strengthened with all glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins." (Colossians 1:13-14, NLT, emphasis added)

It is so much easier to help a person find Jesus when the have reached ROCK BOTTOM. When they get to the point where the feel the NEED TO BE RESCUED, is the greatest opportunity to share the GOOD NEWS of JESUS. But if someone does not recognize the NEED, it is hard to convince them. We often wonder why God allows so much evil in this world. One of those reasons is that EVIL, PAIN, SUFFERING, TRIALS, TRIBULATIONS, help us to realize we NEED RESCUED! The longer we live on this earth without Jesus the more we think, "I lived this long without JESUS, why would I need him now?" Those thoughts are dangerous, dangerous thoughts that can keep us from paradise.

Please Lord, give me the words, the actions, the endurance, and patience to help people see their need to be rescued from sure destruction. There are so many people that are far from the LORD and are going to miss the chance at eternity just because they live a great life here. They do not understand the devastating darkness that stands before them. Help me to open their eyes so they can see that eternal doom. Amen!
