I FALL to my KNEES!

I cannot express how much joy I feel watching God work in my life. The abundance of love, the abundance of meaning and purpose, the abundance of relationships that mean so much to me fill my life. I got to watch my granddaughter run in a track meet on Monday. Yesterday, I got to spend time at another track meet for some teens at church. I enjoyed the time, the conversations with family members who were in attendance, and the weather has been great. The consistent theme is not the TRACK MEET. Although, I thoroughly enjoy watching track and field, that was just the tool God chose to give me joy, peace, purpose, and meaning.

Then today I read one of my favorite prayers in scripture:

"When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all good people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fulness of life and power that comes from God." (Ephesians 3:15-19, NLT)

I have to stand back in amazement to all that GOD has DONE. BUT, I know that joy, purpose, and meaning are not always so apparent in our lives. There are people that are struggling, that want jobs, that want relationships healed, that are mourning lost loved ones, and they cannot look through the forest to see GOD is STILL IN CONTROL.

So as part of my reading today, I also read Psalm 88. What a CONTRAST with Ephesians 3.

"Can the darkness speak of your wonderful deeds? Can anyone in the land of forgetfulness talk about your righteousness? Oh Lord, I cry out to you. I will keep on pleading day by day. O Lord, why do you reject me? Why do you turn your face from me?" (Psalm 88, 12-14, NLT)

I cannot remember the last time I have been in the kind of desperate need expressed in Psalm 88. I count that as an amazing blessing and a pure example of God's grace. I know for sure I deserve worse.

To my friends are going through a PSALM 88 moment, where you feel abandoned by God. For those who can't remember God's righteousness and spend all day in prayer pleading with God, I bring you Ephesians 3. REMEMBER: GOD IS STILL FAITHFUL and he is still IN CONTROL. Never doubt that. Never let the darkness overwhelm you because GOD is LIGHT and he will help you overcome anything you are facing today.

Heavenly Father, I pray you are with my dear friends who are struggling. Help them to look at life from your perspective, that the only thing perfect and eternal is your love for us. I praise you that I can look back and see you bringing me and my family through the hard times. I know it is ONLY through your unlimited resources, your love, your power, your strength that I can look back and REJOICE. I love you Lord. AMEN!
