Is this it?

 

Do you think we are in the last days? 

I am sure we are. I do not look at the last days as days of dread. I look at the last days as leading up to the most joyous events in history. We will get to experience Jesus like never before. The old will pass away and all things will be made new. I cannot wait. But, until that day we are here, in the midst of a fallen world with sin, corruption, evil, and a godless society. Listen to how Paul describes the people in "THE LAST DAYS!" (2 Timothy 3:1-5, NLT)

-love only themselves     - lovers of money    

- boastful and proud    - scoffing at God

- disobedient to parents     - ungrateful   

 - nothing sacred    - unloving     - unforgiving

- slanderous    - no self-control    - cruel    

- hate what is good    - betray friends

- reckless    - puffed up with pride    

- love pleasure instead of God     - act religious

- reject Godly power

I am so shocked at how this accurately describes much of our American society. We are living in the last days and we need to be on our guard that we don't take on these exact same descriptors. We need to heed Paul's advice and STAY AWAY FROM PEOPLE LIKE THAT. But, even with the tragic end that is coming for some, I can rejoice because JESUS is COMING BACK. 

I was reading Psalm 100 today and I think it is a fitting message to keep on our hearts as we traverse this road through chaos, sinfulness, evil, and violence.

"Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation." (Psalm 100, NLT)

We can so easily get bogged down with the world, but praise God we have a hope in Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, we praise you because we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We have a hope that is only in you. The reason we have that hope is because of WHO YOU ARE and I praise you! I will SHOUT WITH JOY Lord for you are good and your love truly does endure forever, even in the midst of this evil and dying world. Amen!
