TIME IS SHORT!

 

One of my greatest fears in life is having some of my family not join me in Heaven. 

I want all of them to live with Jesus in eternity. I have family members  who have not committed their lives to Jesus. I am happy to say they ALL KNOW OF HIM, but there is a significant difference between knowing him and committing your life to him. Jesus wants to know you are committed to spending eternity with him in paradise. If you ignore him here on earth, he will ignore you in eternity. He wants all to come to him, but is unwilling to force it. 

I believe the time is short. Time is short for when Jesus returns. Time is short for taking our last breath. Either way we do not have an infinite amount of time to decide to make Jesus the Lord of our life. 

"If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it. That night two people will be asleep in one bed; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour together at the mill; one will be taken, the other left." (Luke 17:33-36, NLT)

KNOWING GOD IS NOT ENOUGH. Expressing a desire to be saved takes a willful, intentional act on your part. 

"If you openly declare that Jesus is the Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, 'Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.' Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. For 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:9-13, NLT)

I long for all my family to make that public profession of faith and to dedicate themselves to the LORD. Nothing else in life matters as much as that!

Heavenly Father, my heart is heavy for my family and friends who have not called upon your name to be saved. Please Lord, help me to share your love, grace, and mercy with them. Please send others to reinforce all that I have told them. Please Lord save them! Amen!
