Craziness of LIFE!
It has been a crazy month of June. Now that we head into July, I am looking for a little bit of calmer waters. Part of that is getting a few days away with Stephanie. Starting the middle of May and continuing through the month of June, up to the day today, there have been 7 FUNERALS in our church family. It has been a bit taxing spiritually and physically. When you add to that the Movie Night, VBS, planning for the Church Picnic, and finding and hiring an Associate Pastor, I am a bit drained. But, at the same time I am filled with an overflowing cup of blessings.
How are both of those things possible at the same time?
One answer: THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!
In the book of John, Jesus promises to send us an advocate.
"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, 'The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.'" (John 16:13-15, NLT)
We are so blessed to have the HOLY SPIRIT living within us, guiding us, speaking truth into our lives. We don't ever have to walk alone in the times of trial, stress, and strain. I have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit since following this call to SMDCOG and I have felt the power of the Spirit in this past couple of months. I should be completely exhausted and wiped out with all that has gone on, but I am not! The only reason I amd feeling invigorated, energized, and blessed is because the indwelling of the SPIRIT WITHIN ME!
I hear so many people say they are tired and need rest. My ADVICE: Rest in the arms of Jesus, lean on the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling inside you. Praise God!
Heavenly Father, I cannot thank you enough for the presence of your spirit living deep inside of me. I do not know how I would survive without your power, your strength and your Spirit. Please Lord continue to guide me, guide my path, help me to know and obey your will. It is in the name of Jesus Christ that we pray, AMEN!
