I am not ready yet!

I have been near a lot of death and mourning lately. It really has made me think. I do not fear death and I look forward to the day when I can experience a life of no more pain, no more sorrow, no more tears, no more death.

 I AM NOT YET READY!

It is not that I don't want to go there. It is not that I dread leaving this earth. I just believe my work is not yet done. As long as there is one more soul to save, one more family member, one more friend, one more lost sheep to be found, I AM NOT READY YET.

When I was reading Psalm 30 this morning those were my thoughts:

"I cried out to you, O Lord. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying, 'What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness? Hear me, Lord, and have mercy on me. Help me, O Lord.' You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever." (Psalm 30:8-12, NLT)

I want to continue to serve the Lord. This might be a little bold to say, but "Lord, you have thousands, and millions rejoicing with you in your heavenly realm. You don't need me there, I can serve you more right here in this place. I am not ready for heaven because my work is not done!"

I do feel like I am just getting started. I love what I do, even though sometimes I am not sure how effective I am. The Lord has certainly turned my mourning to joyful dancing. I praise God for how I have seen him use me and I seek more of that kind of joy. Please Lord, continue to use me, MY DUST CANNOT PRAISE YOU and MY DUST CANNOT HELP THE LOST SHEEP FIND YOU!

"You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death. Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning." (Psalm 30:3-5, NLT)

Heavenly Father, I am seeking more time, more opportunities to share your love. I am seeking more of the LOST ONES to direct along your path. Please Lord continue to use me, continue to make my life more effective for you and your glory. I am not ready yet to sit at your feet, there is more work to do! Amen!
