My SOUL needs this!
I am thankful this morning that I have time to write and put my thoughts on paper.Lately, my thoughts have been on the water damage at the church, trying to help flood victims as much as we can, and praying for a congregation that has many needs. It seems like mornings have been filled much prayer, meetings and prep work for sermons. So, I am glad to have some time this morning to sit down and write. These blog posts are not nearly as important to others as they are to me. My SOUL needs this outlet for my thoughts and I praise God for his hand making all this possible.
I was reading in Nehemiah 12 today something that helpful.
"The custom of having choir directors to lead the choirs in hymns of praise and thanksgiving to God began long ago in the days of David and Asaph. So now, in the days of Zerubbabel and of Nehemiah, all Israel brought a daily supply of food for the singers, the gatekeepers, and the Levites. The Levites, in turn, gave a portion of what they received to the priests, the descendants of Aaron." (Nehemiah 12:46-47, NLT)
Most people know we have a new Associate Pastor and she is also our Worship Leader. So when I was reading about the custom of having "CHOIR DIRECTORS" I immediately thought of the joy of having Cora with us and leading us. I can't thank the Lord enough for Cora and Jacob. Already she has done a great job leading us in worship on Sunday morning and her contributions to our church throughout the week has also been wonderful.
She would not be possible without the GENEROSITY of this congregation. One of the burdens I have been working on over the past week is our ANNUAL BUDGET for 2027. As I am looking at the numbers, I am thankful for what this congregation does to support this church. That generosity is exactly what Nehemiah was experiencing.
I praise God for the generosity of South Memorial. We are a small but mighty church who supports their faith with their giving. They provide the DAILY SUPPLY OF FOOD for this church to be able to serve. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Heavenly Father. It is so easy to get burdened by the crisis of the day, broken families, illnesses, disasters, and financial needs. Yet, I praise you that you send messages of hope to me and you send messages of joy to help lighten that load and remove those burdens. May I never forget that you are in charge, you have a plan, and I should yield all the burdens to you. Thank you Lord. Thank you for your provision. Amen!
